Working Stiff Special

New Faces
The Carterco website now boasts the profiles of four competent, capable and charismatic young(ish) audio engineers. The studio has always been open to freelancers and now we're happy to promote engineers that do great work in there. Most of you already know me, but take the time to learn a little about Julio, Dave and Brad...

Lucas Record Release Party
Carterco is hosting a record release party to celebrate the arrival of Lucas' Jet Set Ready Go. The album was recorded and mixed at Carterco and we couldn't be more happy to host the release party. Lucas will perform live, as will Jenny Gillespie. Come on by from some recreational time! Friday, May 15th. 8pm, Free!
Recent Going-Ons
Engineer/Producer Brad McGrath recorded and mixed new material by Madrhymes, Nevertheless, Vain, and Chester. Brad also recorded and mixed a new E.P. by "The Minorities". The Haddonfields, came up from St. Louis to have Brad engineer and produce their new full length album and 7". Look for both of those releases to be out soon on I Hate Punk Rock Records. Sissy Mena started work on an EP with Julio Ibarra. Julio also started tracking of an EP with Standing on the Shoulders of Giants, started on a new record with Excell and did some overdubs with Arctic Fox. Dave Osborn has been working on a few projects at Carterco over the last month including working with Chicago hip-hop artist Lucrative on a new record, local Chicago violinist Tiffany Kowalski's first solo record under the name Machineshop, and some voice over work for the Turino Group. Darrick Thompson recorded and mixed his debut record I Was An Aeroplane. Judson Claiborne and The Glorious Vapors finished the final touches of tracking for their new records. Old Peoria recorded and mixed an EP. Tacoma Narrows, GP Folk Hathaway, and Shopping were in do to tracking on songs to be completed at their home studios. India By Rail recorded and mixed an EP titled Speeches for Plants and Animals. Murda Mommy and Dbreezy came in for a couple tracks. Jay MF Hen, Youngsta, Lucciano Da Boss and company have been dominating the Graveyard Shift. Puerto Muerto started work on a new record, as did Chef Boy Ali. Brute City Productions recorded some tracks with producer Rich Laurel. CoachHouse started tracking their new record, as did Modern History. Lady Sage cut a track with us. Imprasia joined us for a day of tracking. Improper Dump and Tin Skin worked on some new material with Darrell Greiwe. T & the Wonder started work on their new EP. The Mount Carmel High School band came in to track a selection of their cover material, as did Odd Pops and Clone Radio. Producer Bill Green started on some tracks with Joe Ryan, Amy Kelly and Erin Edmister. Jon Doce recorded and mixed a couple new tracks. Model N recorded their new EP. The Press were in for a couple songs, as was Edgar O.
